Hermès’ Autumn-Winter 2024 collection plays like a visual diary—a personal montage of leather-clad nostalgia, cosmic tailoring, and glam references to decades past. Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski’s theme, “Bikeuse Équestre,” fuses equestrian codes with biker flair, resulting in a season brimming with cinematic callbacks.
From Look 16’s contrast of hard leather and delicate femininity to silhouettes evoking Bowie, Blade Runner, and Star Trek, the show’s pacing built emotion through memory. The further into the show you traveled, the more it felt like opening a cultural time capsule from the late '70s and early '80s.
The clothes were tough—leather trenches, belted waists, and structured shoulders—yet softened by silk dresses, bralettes, and midriff glimpses. For Gen X viewers, the parallels to Shaft, Dune, and The Hunger weren’t subtle; they were striking.
